Someone should probably write about how amazing it is that an entire music scene can hop on some vegetable oil-powered buses and tour the country. How, if most cities were to do this, all you’d get is clashing egos and self-important “artists” being assholes. Nobody headlines, nobody gets an extended set, nobody gets special tortilla chips in their private backstage lounge. Artists on the tour who weren’t performing last night, were working last night. Someone else should write about last night’s event being more of an art exhibit than a concert. Not music as art, but that entire room as one exhibit of…I dunno, how a displaced community can create a whole new community…or something. Someone with a better vocabulary will figure it out.
