Round Four: Detroit
Feet Night in Buffalo was awesome. A smaller crowd, but very enthusiastic & fun. We didn’t head to Detroit in a caravan, but rather each van or bus headed out when its occupants were up and about. It worked out better, ending up only slightly later than our target load-in time.
The Detroit shows are taking place at Museum of Contemporary Art: Detroit (MOCAD). This place is awesome. Ben & Greg and all the rest from MOCAD have been very helpful and friendly in a complicated process. There’s a big sign outside that says “NOTHING IS GOING TO BE ALL RIGHT”. Fuck yeah.
Last night, Eyes Night never sounded better, and Feet Night (beginning in a couple hours) looks promising. Ed Schrader is going to sing “I Think I’m a Ghost” with theDeathSet backing him up, which couldn’t possibly go wrong.
As I type this, an art theory class from University of Michigan is assembled in the adjacent room & the professor has asked if any member of the Round Robin tour would like to speak to them. Looks like it’s going to be Ed Schrader, Benjamin Beast (Nuclear Power Pants), Connor Kizer (Santa Dads, the Creepers) and maybe others. Not a clear idea of what they want them to talk about, but I imagine it will somehow make its way to half-moon cookies, David Bowie, & Pole Shift.
As an aside, in Buffalo Adventure set up on the tallest stage in the world, and I think (& I’m not alone) that it has upped the ante on his live show to an absurd extent. Hopefully high altitudes will become a staple for Benny.
Love you. Bye.
